Facial
Fractures/Mandible Fractures
Dr. Albert Fox has extensive training in craniomaxillofacial
surgery. Facial injuries due to motor vehicle accidents, falls,
sports injuries, and domestic violence can lead to factures of the
underlying facial bones. Fractures of the orbit, cheek bones, forehead,
nose and jaw may occur. Dr. Albert Fox employs the most modern techniques
available to repair these injuries and to restore both form and
function as quickly as possible.
Dr. Fox takes utmost care to minimize or camouflage
incisions, to make them less visible when undergoing repair for
facial injuries. Often, repair of facial and mandible fractures
requires the use of very small titanium plates and screws. New resorbable
plates and screws may also be used when indicated. Dr. Fox is committed
to providing you or your family member with the best possible care
and most modern techniques available.
Facial Lacerations
Dog bites, falls, car accidents, work-related injury
and inter-personal violence may lead to lacerations to the face,
head and neck. Dr. Fox utilizes meticulous technique and care to
minimize scarring and to provide you with the best possible result.
If required, scar
revision may also be of help to further minimize and camouflage
the appearance of scars. Dr. Fox covers both St Luke’s Hospital
in New Bedford and Tobey Hospital in Wareham, providing these emergency
services.
