Skin Resurfacing

Skin Resurfacing can be performed through the use of chemical peels, dermabrasion or laser treatments. These skin rejuvenation procedures are used to treat facial aging changes including wrinkles and creases. Wrinkles around the mouth and lips can be improved or eliminated.

Skin resurfacing can also be used to treat pigmentary changes of skin such as “sun” spots, brown pigment spots, fine capillaries and telangiectasias (small blood vessels).

What is Skin Resurfacing?

Chemical peels, dermabrasion, and laser treatments all involve resurfacing the skin. Skin resurfacing is the removal of the damaged outer layers of the skin to allow new, undamaged skin to grow in its place. As the skin heals and re-grows, new collagen is produced.

This new collagen not only eliminates many fine lines and wrinkles but also refines the texture of the skin. Blemishes, such as “age spots” are also removed. This new skin provides you with a healthy, rejuvenated appearance.
