Express
Lift™ (Suture-suspension cheek lift)
The Express Lift is a cheek lift procedure designed
to restore the balance of facial features by repositioning the sagging
cheek tissues. As we age, the cheek tissues begin to sag due to
loss of elasticity and the effects of gravity. The mid-portion of
the face may become flattened and the cheek folds (nasolabial or
melolabial folds) may deepen.
The Express Lift™ Procedure
The Express Lift can be performed under local anesthesia
or with light sedation. The procedure takes approximately one hour
and can be performed alone, or in combination with other facial
plastic surgery procedures if total facial rejuvenation is desired.
Two small incisions are made in the hairline and one or two very
small incisions are made in the cheek next to the deep cheek fold.
These incisions are virtually undetectable when healed. A permanent
suture is then used to lift and hold the cheek into its more youthful
position. This simultaneously improves the fullness of the cheeks
and softens the cheek fold.
Express Lift™ Recovery
The recovery period is short, with many patients
resuming normal activities within a few days. There may be some
swelling, bruising or mild discomfort. Initially, there may be a
feeling of tightness or firmness around the cheek or mouth for a
brief period of time.
Candidates for the Express Lift™
Patients who have flattening of the mid-face, deep
cheek folds or desire to enhance their existing cheek fullness are
potential candidates for this minimally-invasive procedure. Schedule
