Dermabrasion &
Microdermabrasion Treatment
Dermabrasion and microdermabrasion are skin resurfacing
techniques that are similar to chemical peeling, in that the outer
layer of skin is removed to allow newer, fresher skin to grow and
replace the older skin.
Microdermabrasion of the Face
Microdermabrasion is a “light” form of
skin resurfacing. Only the very outer surface of the skin is removed.
With multiple treatments, very fine lines around the eyes, mouth
and face can be improved. The skin often appears healthy and refreshed
after a treatment.
Dermabrasion
Traditional dermabrasion carries the skin resurfacing
to a much deeper depth. This allows for treatment of a variety of
skin problems. Dermabrasion can be used for scar
revision, acne scarring, lip rhytids, as well as the treatment
of rhinophyma.
Rhinophyma
Rhinophyma is the excess growth of the glands of the
nasal skin. It is a form of rosacea. This can lead to an enlarged,
red and irregular appearing nose. Dermabrasion offers an excellent
means to control and treat rhinophyma changes of the nose. Through
skillful application of dermabrasion, the nose can be reshaped to
achieve a more normal appearance.
