The CO2 laser is considered the most effective treatment option for reversing the signs of skin aging. Skin resurfacing can restore the tone and glow to your face through the formation of a completely new skin layer. The re-epithelialization process along with the formation of new collagen is the quickest way to minimize wrinkles, sun damage, age spots, and skin laxity.

Fractionated CO2 enables your skin to heal more rapidly than traditional CO2 treatments. With fractional laser resurfacing the laser beam is broken up or fractionated into many small micro beams. The laser beams are separated so when they strike the skin surface small areas of the skin between the beams are not treated by the laser and left intact. These small areas of untreated skin promote a much more rapid recovery and healing with less risk of complications. The areas treated by the fractional micro beams, called micro treatment zones, promote new collagen production and resultant facial skin rejuvenation.

Fractionated CO2 can provide the following benefits:

  • Improve deep wrinkles, fine lines, tone and texture – in one single treatment
  • Get amazing rejuvenation results without surgery
  • Experience minimal downtime
  • Improve the appearance of aged and sun damaged skin
  • Reduce wrinkles, lines, and enlarged pores
  • Remove age spots and solar lentigines (brown pigment)
  • Tighten loose skin and improve the skin’s overall texture
  • Improve acne scars
  • Minimize surgical scars and traumatic scars

Is DeepFXTM/ Active FXTM right for me?

Lumenis® CO2 laser procedures are not suitable for everyone. For example patients who have taken Accutane® within the past 6-12 months, or had a history of keloid formations. Risks may include change or pigmentation, infection, redness, textual changes or scarring. Be sure to consult Dr. Fox regarding treatment options available and related contraindications and risks based on your individual concerns and medical history, before choosing a treatment

How does DeepFXTM/ Active FXTM work ?

The Lumenis® fractional laser creates microscopic channels that trigger the process of new collagen and elastic fiber production, while leaving some unaffected skin in between the channels to reduce healing time. The result is deep dermal regeneration that dramatically improves your skin elasticity and appearance.

The unique power and precision of Lumenis® technology enables Dr. Fox to customize treatments for your specific skin concerns and needs, with optimal comfort and healing time.

Immediately following treatment, your skin will be warm and may be slightly red and swollen, depending on your customized treatment settings. Most patients are able to resume their daily activities within a week. To support you in the healing process, a daily skincare routine should be prescribed.

What should I expect from DeepFXTM/ Active FXTM?

To minimize discomfort during deeper treatments, a local anesthetic should be applied to numb your skin. Depending on the treatment area, you can expect the session to last approximately 20-30 minutes. During the treatment you may feel a warm sensationas the laser is applied but you should not feel any discomfort.

When will I see results from DeepFXTM/ Active FXTM?

The main advantage of DeepFXTM/ Active FXTM is that results are visible after one treatment. As your skin heals following the treatment, you will begin to notice an improvement in wrinkles, fine lines, tone and texture. Typically, you should expect to continue to see improvement for up to 18 months following the procedure
