Radiesse Injections
Radiesse is a soft tissue filler that consists of
a material called calcium hydroxyl apatite suspended in a hydro
gel. It is naturally compatible and no skin testing or allergy testing
is required.
How long does Radiesse last?
On average, Radiesse lasts for 12 to 15 months. Some
patients have reported the Radiesse may last even longer. The advantage
of Radiesse over other fillers is the longevity of the product.
The duration in part depends on each individual’s skin characteristics
as well as the region treated.
What areas of the face can Radiesse be used?
Radiesse is best used in the folds around the mouth
and nose. These folds and creases are also known as nasolabial folds,
melolabial folds and “Marionette” lines. Radiesse has
a good record of safety and has been used in patients worldwide.
Where is the Radiesse treatment performed?
The treatment is performed in the office setting
and generally takes 30 minutes. The results are immediate. A topical
numbing cream or local anesthetic is used for comfort. There may
be minor swelling, itching, redness or tenderness after the injection
is completed. Dr. Fox has offices in Dartmouth and Wareham.
