CosmoDerm, Cosmoplast
and Collagen
CosmoDerm, CosmoPlast, Zyderm and Zyplast are all

CosmoDerm, CosmoPlast, Zyderm and Zyplast are all
dermal fillers made of collagen. CosmoDerm and CosmoPlast are made
of highly purified human collagen. CosmoDerm is useful for fine
lines and vertical lip lines, whereas CosmoPlast is more suitable
for deeper folds, lip augmentation and lip enhancement. No allergy
testing is required with these fillers.
Zyderm and Zyplast are made from highly purified bovine
collagen. Consequently, Zyderm and Zyplast require allergy testing
prior to administration for correction of folds, wrinkles, fine
lines and thin lips.
How long do these collagen fillers last?
Collagen fillers typically last 3 to 4 months. The
collagen is absorbed by the body over time. Actual duration may
vary for each individual.
These soft tissue fillers are administered in the
office in a quick 20 to 30 minute session. There is no down time
or recovery. There may be transient minor tenderness, itching, swelling
or redness at the injection sites.
