Chin Augmentation (Chin Implant)

Chin augmentation or mentoplasty is performed to improve the overall balance and proportion of the face. Better balance and strength of the chin can improve the harmony of the face and improve the jaw or neck line. A chin augmentation can be performed alone or combined with a rhinoplasty or facelift to provide an optimal result.

Chin augmentation is performed with the use of an implant. Dr. Albert Fox prefers either a Gore-Tex or silastic implant material for chin augmentation. These materials have an excellent safety record and both offer a very pleasing aesthetic appearance.

Chin augmentation is performed on an outpatient basis. Recovery time is approximately one week.
